I am a BACP registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with a PG diploma in Transactional Analysis.
I specialise in working with clients suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome / ME (which I recovered from 20 years ago). Having suffered from ME in the late 1980’s, when little was known or understood about this condition, I have insight into the challenges chronic fatigue brings. I am also experientially aware of the stigma attached to this condition. As a result, I am able to support people with empathy.
I have worked with personal injury clients and their families for over ten years and more recently supported people with long Covid. I am also experienced in supporting people with depression, anxiety, trauma, the transgender process, domestic violence and terminal illness.
Past experience and trauma can manifest as problems with anxiety and depression in the here and now. The Client-therapist relationship offers a unique opportunity to explore our habitual patterns, emotional processes, relationships and better ways to communicate. We have the capacity to change as a result of new awareness.
I have a warm, compassionate approach and will support you in pursuit of your aspirations, meeting challenges, and coming to decisions about how you want to live your life. It takes courage to embark on this journey. Whatever brings you to counselling we can explore together.
